Geriatric Psychiatry Inpatient Program

Saint Anne’s Geriatric Psychiatry Program is a comprehensive inpatient program designed to meet the unique psychiatric, and emotional needs of older adults in a specialized, secure, safe, and confidential setting. The hospital has two inpatient units: a 16-bed unit at the hospital campus in Fall River and a 15-bed unit in Stoughton at New England Sinai Hospital. Both offer private rooms, comforting, structured environments with daily programming, and a multidisciplinary team approach to care.

Outpatient Behavioral Health Services for Children and Adolescents

Saint Anne’s Fernandes Center for Children & Families offers behavioral health services — in conjunction with other rehabilitation therapies — to children and adolescents. Counseling for children and young adults who have been victims of trauma and/or violence is provided by the Youth Trauma Program, a Massachusetts Office for Victims Assistance-funded program of the Justice Resource Institute, located at the Fernandes Center.

Senior-friendly care: Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE) Distinction
Since 2015, Saint Anne's Hospital has been designated as a Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE) site. The largest geriatric nursing program available, NICHE is the only international designation indicating a hospital's commitment to elder care excellence and patient-centered care for older adults. Through our participation in the NICHE program, we are able to offer evidence-based, interdisciplinary approaches that promote positive experiences for the older adults in our care, that, in turn, lead to greater satisfaction rates for our patients and their families. Saint Anne's is one of just 16 Massachusetts hospitals, and the only hospital in our region, to earn this senior-friendly designation.
