The Spine Center of Saint Anne’s Hospital provides advanced, coordinated care for conditions of the neck, back and spine. Our combined expertise in neurosurgery, physiatry (physical medicine), pain management, physical and occupational therapy, and nurse navigation ensures that patients are seen by the most appropriate specialist, right from the start.

The Spine Center at Saint Anne's Hospital
Diagnosis and coordination of care for spine conditions can be challenging for patients and their primary care providers. At the Spine Center, we streamline this process, with an experienced multidisciplinary team to diagnose spine disorders and develop individual treatment plans.
A nurse navigator works with providers and patients to coordinate treatment from referral through recovery. From the first visit, we collaborate with each patient to decide on the best treatment option. Often, this is not surgery. See below for examples of the range of treatments available.
When surgery is indicated
We offer robotic-assisted, minimally invasive spine surgery, including the first-in-Massachusetts Globus ExcelsiusGPSTM robotic-assisted navigation system for spinal surgery. The Excelsius GPS system uses robotics and a sophisticated navigation system, similar to that in a car, to guide the surgeon in performing minimally invasive spinal procedures. The guidance system allows accurate, real-time images during surgery, resulting in less exposure to radiation, less blood loss, and less tissue damage. The approach fosters shorter hospital stays, quicker recovery, and faster return to daily activities.
