Saint Anne’s Hospital is one of 72 hospitals in the U.S. to achieve “Straight A’s” for patient safety

Leapfrog Straight A's

Fall River, Mass. – For the ninth consecutive time, The Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog, has recognized Saint Anne’s Hospital with its “A” Hospital Safety Grade.

Saint Anne’s Hospital is one of just 72 United States hospitals out of more than 2,600 across the country to attain this honor since the inception of the Hospital Safety Grade in 2012.

“Earning ‘Straight A’s’ in the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is a remarkable achievement and testament to our team’s ongoing commitment to patient safety,” said Michael Bushell, Saint Anne’s president. “Thanks to the vigilance of our staff, physicians, and all providers, Saint Anne’s has been recognized consistently as a model of excellence in preventing harm to patients.”

Developed under the guidance of an expert panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 30 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year. It is calculated by top patient safety experts, peer-reviewed, fully transparent, and free to the public. Letter grades are based on a hospital’s record of patient safety and helping consumers protect themselves and their families from errors, injuries, accidents, and infections.

Score details for Saint Anne’s Hospital and other hospitals evaluated by The Leapfrog Group, as well as information that explains how to use the safety grades, are available at www.hospitalsafetygrade.org.
