“Caring for the Survivors from the Boston Marathon Bombings: Long-term Implications”: A dinner lecture by Jeffrey Kalish, MD

Fall River, MA – The Centers for Wound Healing at Saint Anne’s Hospital and Morton Hospital invite area health care providers to “Caring for the Survivors from the Boston Marathon Bombings: Long-term Implications,” a dinner lecture presented by Jeffrey Kalish, M.D., assistant professor of surgery and radiology, Boston University School of Medicine, and director of endovascular surgery, Boston Medical Center.Jeffrey Kalish

The program, which will be held on October 8 from 6-8 p.m. at the Venus de Milo, 75 G.A.R. Highway (Route 6), Swansea, will feature Dr. Kalish, who was among medical providers who cared for those injured in the Boston Marathon bombings. He will discuss:

  • the importance of damage-control surgery in the immediate aftermath of trauma
  • the long-term impacts following decisions about amputation versus limb salvage
  • lessons learned from the Boston Marathon bombing
