Saint Anne’s Hospital Regional Cancer Center’s annual spring oncology symposium will explore prostate cancer care

Noted speakers to present topics related to prostate cancer 

Fall River, MA – Saint Anne’s Hospital Regional Cancer Center invites physicians, nurses and other medical professionals to its annual Spring Oncology Symposium on Thursday, May 8, 2014, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Rachel’s Lakeside, 950 State Road (Route 6), Dartmouth.

Designed for all health care professionals, including physicians, nurses, radiation therapists, and others who care for cancer patients, this symposium’s presentations will include:

  • “The Role of Prostate MRI in Management of Prostate Cancer in 2014,” with Clare Tempany-Afdhal, MB, BAO, BCh, professor of radiology, Harvard Medical School; co-director of National Center for Image Guided Therapy, Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston
  • "Prostate Cancer Screening and Approach to Early Stage Disease,”  with Mark Pomerantz, MD, assistant professor of medicine, Harvard Medical School; Lank Center for Genitourinary Oncology, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston
  • “PSA Screening for Prostate Cancer: An Evidence-Based Approach,” with Anthony V. D’Amico, MD, PhD, professor and chief of Genitourinary Radiation Oncology, Brigham & Women’s Hospital/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute; Harvard Medical School, Boston

This spring symposium, sponsored by Saint Anne's Hospital Regional Cancer Center, includes a hot buffet dinner and education credits for nurses, physicians and radiation therapists.

There is no charge for the dinner or symposium, but advance reservations are required by May 2, 2014.
