Fall River, MA – The Saint Anne’s Hospital medical staff has announced that Stacey Duffy, of Pawtucket, and Monica Souza, of North Dighton, have been named recipients of this year’s “John A. Arcuri, MD, 2014 Scholarship Awards.”
The $3,000 awards are part of the program established by the SAH medical staff in recognition of area students’ outstanding academic achievements and a demonstrated commitment to health care.
Duffy, an Emergency Room technician at Saint Anne’s Hospital, is pursuing her education in nursing at the Community College of Rhode island.

This year’s scholarship program was named by the medical staff of Saint Anne’s Hospital in honor of the longtime emergency medicine physician leader.
Instrumental in the hospital’s growth and leadership in emergency medicine for more than 22 years, Dr. Arcuri served in medical and leadership roles at Saint Anne’s until stepping down this year as chair of emergency medicine. Among these were president, vice president and secretary/treasurer of the hospital’s medical staff; interim vice president of medical affairs; chair of numerous board committees; and a leadership role in the establishment of Saint Anne’s as an emergency medicine residency program site for emergency medicine residents and emergency medical services (EMS) professionals and nurse practitioners.
