Fall River, MA – Saint Anne’s Hospital, a Steward Family Hospital in Fall River, MA, has announced that it has formed the Saint Anne’s Hospital Ambulatory Care Center in North Dartmouth. The ambulatory care center incorporates the ambulatory surgery-endoscopy and sleep centers on the campus of Hawthorn Medical Associates.
Services at the center, now considered a hospital outpatient service, remain on the Hawthorn campus at 535 Faunce Corner Road, North Dartmouth.
Patients will continue to see physicians and surgeons associated with Hawthorn Medical Associates, with the added resources of Saint Anne’s hospital-based services, such as laboratory and specialty diagnostic imaging, as well as the Steward Health Care Network of providers.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to incorporate these high-quality and respected Hawthorn services under the umbrella of Saint Anne’s services,” said Craig Jesiolowski, FACHE, president of Saint Anne’s Hospital. “This will enhance our capabilities to provide a more expansive service.”
With the addition of the ambulatory care center, Saint Anne’s surgical services are now available at three locations. These include full ambulatory and inpatient surgery facilities at the hospital in Fall River, along with the Southern New England Surgery Center in Attleboro. The surgical medical staff includes anesthesiologists and general and specialty surgeons with a wide range of expertise, including urology; ear, nose and throat; plastic surgery; gynecology; vascular surgery; colorectal surgery; thoracic surgery; podiatry; and orthopedics.
In recognition of its focus on quality, safety and service in surgical care, Saint Anne’s Hospital has been recognized twice consecutively by Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Blue Distinction Center for Hip and Knee Replacement®, and by The Joint Commission, a leading accreditor of hospitals in the United States, as a “Top Performer on Key Quality Measures™” for surgery. It also has earned three consecutive “A” hospital safety scores by The Leapfrog Group.
The addition of the Dartmouth sleep center to Saint Anne’s hospital-based program creates a ten-bed program serving the New Bedford-Fall River area. Using the latest sleep medicine technology, the centers study and diagnose a wide range of sleep disorders, including narcolepsy, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, snoring disorders, and insomnia. Home-based sleep studies also are offered. Both sites are accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
