Health Care Students

Just for students pursuing a career in health care in 2014-15 academic year...

1. Saint Anne's Hospital Medical Staff offers two $3,000 health care scholarships

If you are a health care student who is associated with Saint Anne's Hospital or a resident of the Greater Fall River area (Assonet, Berkley, Dighton, Fall River, Freetown, Rehoboth, Swansea, Somerset, and Westport, plus Tiverton and Little Compton, RI), apply now for this year's John A. Arcuri, MD, 2014 Scholarship Awards.

Named in honor of Dr. Arcuri, a longtime member of Saint Anne's Hospital's medical staff, two $3,000 scholarships are awarded annually by the hospital medical staff in recognition of area health care students’ outstanding academic achievements and a demonstrated commitment to health care.

Instrumental in the hospital’s growth and leadership in emergency medicine for more than 22 years, Dr. Arcuri served in medical and leadership roles at Saint Anne’s until recently stepping down as chair of emergency medicine. Among these were president, vice president and secretary/treasurer of the hospital’s medical staff and interim vice president of medical affairs; chair of numerous board committees; and a leadership role in the establishment of Saint Anne’s as an emergency medicine residency program site for emergency medicine residents and emergency medical services (EMS) professionals and nurse practitioners.  Dr. Arcuri also served as co-medical director of Fall River Emergency Medical Services for many years.

Applications for two $3,000 awards for the 2014-15 academic year are available: one for students who are members of the Saint Anne's Hospital community (employees and their families, and families of the Saint Anne's Hospital medical staff); and one for students in the Greater Fall River community.
